ART CLASSES

  Watercolor for Beginners with artist Deborah Ponder introduces students

to the basic skills they need to begin creating their own original paintings in watercolor. This hands-on class is also a fun, relaxing experience designed to help students connect with their personal creativity and build artistic self-confidence.

 Deborah Ponder is highly regarded as an instructor for her enthusiastic, engaging, positive teaching style and her ability to present complex concepts

to students in clear, accessible terms. Through live painting demonstrations, she shows students how to combine the skills and techniques presented in class.

She provides easy-to follow directions and offers supportive, one-on-one coaching to students as they practice what they have learned

and complete their own painting.

In this class, students will:

• learn what makes watercolor such a unique medium

• be introduced to the principles of the watercolor process

• learn about color mixing

• practice core skills: brush handling and paint application techniques

• learn how to choose watercolor tools and materials, and 

• complete their own small painting.

 With careful thought and planning, Deborah Ponder has designed this class to be a rewarding learning experience for beginners, as well as those who already have some background in art watercolor. No drawing or painting experience needed.

Class size is limited to allow for individual student-instructor interaction. Students should dress comfortably and may want to bring a smock to wear.

Class fee includes all art supplies for use during class.
